Early math is rote learning, all memory. Memorizing does not teach practical competence to accomplish a math task in today’s world. Math is a subject which builds on previous skills as it extends knowledge.

Auditory Processing Disorders
The owner and founder of the Lear Educational Center, Patricia Lear, feels strongly about offering programs for students with Auditory and Visual Processing Disorders. She has written and spoken to parents, teachers and other professionals about the need to teach orthographics, the patterning of the sounds, for reading decoding and encoding (spelling). Linda Mood-Bell Programs are great for enhancing any reading program and are good as stand alone programs for many students.
Kindergarten is a busy place today. Children are expected to know a great deal of information before entering. Many schools will tell you that there is no need for pre-preparation, but experience is telling parents that there is a great deal of preparation required.
Standard Academic Tutoring
The goal of general academic tutoring is to help the student become independent by learning to monitor their own study habits. Often students have not be properly taught to know how to learn, what strategies to use and just where to begin after they have fallen behind their class.

I would like to formally introduce a Writing Program developed over the past several years. The program was developed for students with Executive Functioning Deficits and Auditory Processing Disorders. Over the past several years, I have found this program has been well accepted by students with various learning difficulties, and more importantly, it is used by students in their academic settings. I have also had the opportunity to track several students through the PSSAs and have been very pleased with the results.
